The Caledonia Little League Baseball and Softball umpire staff consists of adults and teenagers officiating baseball and softball games at the AA, AAA, Majors, and Juniors levels of play.

Once we receive your application, we will reach out to discuss next steps, pay and your specific schedule needs.
Additionally, we ask that all umpires attend the following in-person events:
Annual Coaches and Umpire Meeting: Thursday, March 14th at Kraft Meadows Intermediate School at 7:00pm
Annual Coaches and Umpire Clinic: Saturday, March 23rd at Kraft Meadows Intermediate School at 12:00pm

Umpiring and scorekeeping are great ways to be involved with Little League and to watch games from the best seat in the house!

CBSL Senior Umpires are teenagers or adults ages 14+.

Senior Umpires: Officiate primarily Majors and Juniors games but may be asked to officiate a game at any level should the need arise.

Home plate umpires

• are at least 16 years old,
• have at least 2 years of umpiring experience,
• have a minimum of 3 years of playing experience,
• and cannot officiate at their own current level of play.

Field umpires

• are at least 14 years old,
• have at least 2 years of umpiring experience,
• have a minimum of 3 years of playing experience,
• and cannot officiate at their own current level of play.

All umpires

• Current baseball or softball players (or played within the last two calendar years) are strongly preferred. 
• Umpires should be available on a consistent regular basis to officiate at least two games per calendar week from mid-April through (up to) the end of July. 
• Have transportation to and from fields including outside of the district. 
• Are paid between $30 and $100 per game depending on experience, position, and specific game.
• All umpires and scorekeepers are required to attend a mandatory training hosted by the Caledonia Little League Umpire in Chief. 

Each umpire will be evaluated and approved to officiate each position at each level of play based on criteria listed above as well as results of the evaluations.
 

CBSL Scoreboard Team is made up of teenagers or adults 12+. 

• Scorekeepers will attend all home games where Cal umpires are officiating and are responsible for running the scoreboards.
• Scorekeepers must be at least 12 years old and will be paid $20 per game.
